BODIES OF WATER

Bodies of Water started in David and Meredith's closet. They were newly married and lived in a very small house. The closet was the only place to put the computer that they used to record songs. They were content doing this for a while but eventually decided to send these songs out into the world. The first step was to form a musical group. Meredith had never played a piano before but she was willing to give it a shot. She had known Kyle for a decade or so and he decided to try playing the bass. Jessie was a new friend from Arizona who was making a big splash in LA. They all thought that since she was a gifted dancer she would make a good drummer, and so Jessie learned to drum.

Members of WINDSOR FOR THE DERBY, THE WAR ON DRUGS, And BODIES OF WATER Share Some Holiday Joy

This just in! BODIES OF WATER are sharing with us their wonderful rendition of the classic “O Come, O Come, Emmanuel” just in time for the Holidays. The song is the closing track to the Hard to Find a Friend holiday comp entitled Peace On Earth Vol. II, which is benefiting the Children of Uganda fund.

Give it a listen HERE.
For more information on the comp, head HERE.

Also in the holiday spirit are The Silver Ages. Here’s the bands back story straight from the reindeers mouth:
“The Silver Ages is a group perhaps unique in the annals of music history: a men’s singing ensemble comprised of members of various rock bands, including WINDSOR FOR THE DERBY, THE WAR ON DRUGS, The Capitol Years, National Eye, Buried Beds, Like Moving Insects, BC Camplight and others. These Philadelphia musicians came together to explore the intersecting worlds of drinking, revelry, and traditional close harmony choral arrangements from the early 20th century. With a repertoire that touches on love, death, booze, weather, virginity (its final moments, anyway) and being lost at sea, the Ages approach their craft with a seriousness that belies their laddish cheer. They aim to court you slow, with the sounds of a vanished era, even though they’re really just a bunch of rock guys.”

The band has offered us their performance of the song “Lo How A Rose Eer Blooming”.
Listen to it HERE.
